Is @Moleskine’s “as a reward” first page a joke?

Question

Is @Moleskine’s “as a reward” first page a joke?

Answer

I don’t think so.

“To lose a passport was the least of one’s worries: to lose a notebook was a catastrophe”. With these words from the bookSonglines, Bruce Chatwin describes the role of his travel notebooks.

And he also tells us: “I wrote my name and address on the front page, offering a reward to the finder”. Today on the first page of each Moleskine notebook a reward notice is still printed: “As a reward: $___”.

Moleskine lovers turned this into a creative space, where the most imaginative rewards appear.
